Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Allama Tahirul Qadri has threatened to “declare a war” against the government if marchers were not provided justice.

“If we declare a war, whoever comes in front of us will be swept away,” Qadri told his supporters in Islamabad Sunday. “We will continue this struggle for rights even at the cost of our lives,” he said.

The PAT chief warned that if these unarmed protestors became “hungry lions”, nobody would be spared from their wrath.

Qadri also rejected media reports that people were brought to the sit-in on rent. Not a single person was paid for joining the Inqilab March, he stated.

Qadri said that he was fighting the war in line with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. “I want to demolish the incumbent system of oppression and replace it with a genuine democracy,” he said, asking for a new social contract.

  1. It should be noted that the corrupt, uniformed goons who slavishly serve the looters and feudals in Parliament — goons who are sometimes called the POLICE — have been preventing food and supplies from reaching the protesters.

This is the kind of inhuman violation of the protesters' rights that Dr. Qadri is warning against. This is why he talks about the protesters as "hungry lions". Because the looters and career criminals in the Parliament are trying to block food from reaching these people demanding their rights, and they are indeed hungry.

If the Parliament were to respect the rights of the protesters, the sit-in would continue as a peaceful one, which it was meant to be. But if the protesters are forced to physically defend their food from the uniformed goons, then there is no telling where this could lead once people are roused to action.

*That* is the warning that Dr. Qadri is issuing to the career criminals sitting in Parliament. They know what he is talking about. They just need to respect the protesters'rights, and none of the uniformed goons will be harmed

  2. That's what he and Imran want to do. Police and government should plan an operation like Zarb-e-azam and lal masjid against these culprits.

    • No they do not want to do that, unless they are forced by aggression from the police or government.
It is in the interests of Imran and Dr Qadri to be peaceful protesters.
The uniformed goons called "police" are provoking the protesters by attacking vans carrying food for them.
