Lawyers belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Lawyers Forum on Saturday moved the Lahore High Court (LHC) for disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The PTI Lawyers Forum argued in the intra-court appeal that Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif “lied” regarding the role of the Pakistan Army as mediator in the ongoing political turmoil in the country and the military was tried to be defamed.
The petition claimed that the PM does not meet the conditions set in the Article 62 and 63 of the constitution for a public representative.
The petition was earlier rejected by a single bench of the Lahore High Court.
The petitioner prayed to the court to dismiss Sharif as premier as the constitution aspects have been ignored in the single bench decision over the matter.
