Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) senior leader Dr Farooq Sattar has said that changing the prime minister is a logical option considering the ongoing political crisis.

Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Sattar said that all four pillars of the State are under attack, alleging that the government has “failed to prevent the worst”.

The MQM leader said that it is vital to save the system and Constitution at the moment by changing the PM, adding that this is a constitutional and legal option.

Condemning police brutality in Islamabad against the protestors of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Sattar said that the government has raised a serious question over its mandate by launching the operation against civilians.

Sattar said that the government should mull over an in-House change to defuse the situation. “We will not remain detached for too long if issues are not resolved soon,” he warned.
