‘Inflated’ IESCO electricity bills worry citizens

Citizens of twin cities have expressed concerned over inflated electricity bills with extra units without reading.

A resident of Islamabad told that there is no air conditioned in his residence but despite this IESCO has sent him a bill of Rs 38,000 while the units mentioned in bill are 1982, he said when he went for correction of bill in WAPDA office the staff asked him to pay the bill this time as it, the bill will be corrected next time.

Citizens are protesting that IESCO has sent them bills of thousand of rupees while when they reach WAPDA office no one is entertaining them for correction and asked them to pay the bill as it is this time.

Beside this, All Traders Welfare Association Blue Area president told media that there is no business in Blue Area from last 2.5 months due to Metro Bus Project but the electricity bills they have received are out of their reach and traders are worried that how they will pay these bills.
