As many as five people were killed and seven others injured in different violence incidents in the city on Thursday.
A private channel reporter, Nadir Shah, 40, son of Muzafar Shah, was shot dead by unknown armed men in Korangi.
According to the Zaman Town Police Station SHO, the accused, Riaz, and his accomplices killed Nadir Shah, son of Muzafar Shah, resident of 4-Pole Korangi No 5, over a plot dispute and escaped. The body was shifted to Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center (JPMC) for an autopsy.
Abdul Qayoom, 23, son of Akram Khan, was shot dead while other Haji Adam, 25, son of Mohammad Younus, was injured in firing incident near Memon Society, Kharadar Market. Both were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK).
In another incident, unknown person, aged about 40, was gunned down by unknown assailants near Boat Basin. The body was shifted to JPMC for autopsy.
A 28-year-old man, Shah Rasool, son of Habib Rasool, was shot dead by unidentified armed culprits in SITE area near Qabar Chowk. The body was shifted to CHK for medico-legal formalities.
Police said the motive of the incident was yet to be ascertained. The victim sustained nine bullets wounds. He hailed from Buner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, police said.
Asif, 36, son of Imamuddin, was shot dead by unknown armed men at Mir Jam Goth in Malir. The body was shifted to JPMC for a pos-mortem examination.
Two people, Haris, 7, son of Amjad, and Naseer Ahmed, 40, son of Taj Muhammad, were injured when unidentified armed men opened fire on them at Essa Goth in Malir. They were shifted to JPMC for treatment.
Separately, Abdullah, 20, son of Nazeer Khan, was injured in firing of unknown persons near Nazimabad Number 2. He was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment.
Asif, 52, son of Ghulam Nabi, resident of Mehmoodabad, was injured during resistance to robbery in Mehmoodabad near Parsi Gate. The injured was shifted to JPMC for treatment.
Police said a person Tariq Qureshi, son of Sadiq Qureshi, was sustained bullet injured by unknown robbers during resistance over snatching at II Chundrigar Road. The injured was shifted to CHK for treatment.
Meanwhile, Qaid Johar, 49, son of Saif Uddin, suffered stray bullet injury at North Nazimabad Block-C near Dolmin Mall, Hyderi. The injured was shifted to ASH for treatment.
