Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has denied reports that the government is considering his resignation as a means to end the political crisis.
Earlier, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Shaukat Basra had claimed that the government was considering the option of Punjab CM’s resignation and was ready to register First Information Report (FIR) over the Model Town incident, in which at least 14 Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers were killed.
Basra had further said that Raja Ashfaq Sarwar and Mujtaba Shuja were being considered as options for the post of Punjab CM, a news channel reported, adding that the final decision over the political crisis would be taken by the PM very soon.
Separately, in a meeting in Jati Umra on Sunday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif reportedly discussed the current political crisis and developments following the meeting with former president Asif Ali Zardari.
Later, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shahbaz also called on his uncle PM Sharif and discussed the ongoing political situation in the country.
hasn't changed a bit…… same arrogance and same meeting and consulting with the family!!!!!!
