A petition has been filed in Supreme Court (SC) Lahore Registry seeking registration of treason case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and disqualification of members of parliament hailing from PTI.

Petitioner NH Mujahid has taken the plea that ‘Azadi’ march launched by Khan and statements being given by him against state institutions are posing serious threat for drifting the country into chaos and civil war.

Khan and members of Parliament belonging to PTI have taken oath of allegiance to Constitution of Pakistan and their speeches against the Parliament and judiciary come under the ambit of deviation from oath and treason, the petitioner said.
