*Mashhood says target killers have arrived in province to disrupt peace
Target killers have arrived in Punjab from other provinces with intent of foul play and to disrupt peace, said Punjab Law Minister Rana Mashhood while addressing a press conference on Wednesday.
Mashhood said that there were reports of target killers entering Lahore from different parts of the country. He said a terrorist attack was feared on August 14 (in the long march).
“It is the first time in history that August 14 has become controversial,” said the law minister. Target killers, belonging to particular political party, have been position along the long march route, he added.
“Imran doesn’t believe in political struggle. Nation has rejected the long march of Qadri and Imran,” the law minister said, adding that the government had no authority to order reopening of four constituencies for verification of thumb impressions.
He said that Imran Khan was indulging in false propaganda of election rigging. “We had no representative in the caretaker set-up,” he explained, questioning why a petition was not filed in the Election Commission against rigging.
He said that accusations of rigging were made after the PML-N won a heavy mandate.
The law minister said that Riaz Kiyani was father-in-law of CEO of Shaukat Khanum Hospital.
He said that Imran Khan rejected the proposal made by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
