The Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Sunday relieved party leaders Dr Sagheer Ahmed and Nasir Jamal of their responsibilities in the co-ordination committee.

According to a statement of the MQM, Jamal was removed from his duties as deputy convener of the party to let him focus on party’s news committee. Sindh Health Minister Dr Sagheer Ahmed has also been removed from his responsibilities in the coordination committee.

The responsibilities of both the leaders are now entrusted to the central information committee of the party. The party says Sagheer Ahmed was relieved of his duties so that he could give more time to health issues of the province in his capacity as a minister.

The MQM statement said party chief Altaf Hussain had endorsed the decision taken by the Rabita Committee.
