A complete strike was observed in Umerkot and surrounding areas against the murder of local traders.
All shops and markets remained closed to protest the killing of Seth Heera Lal and Ashok Kumar who were gunned down on the night between Thursday and Friday on resisting robbers. A large number of citizens staged a protest demonstartion and demanded arrest of the killers. They blocked main road of Umerkot, suspending all types of traffic.
Provincial minister Syed Ali Mardan Shah assured the protestors that the killers would be arrested soon.
