LHC judges bail 48 prisoners on Eid day

Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik and Justice Mansoor Ali Shah of the Lahore High Court (LHC) have bailed out 48 under trial prisoners, including 2 children, for being involved in petty offences imprisoned at the Lahore Camp Jail.
Camp Jail Superintendent Shahram Tauqir Khan said on Thursday that both the judges during their visit to jail on the Eid day, met the prisoners, listened to their grievances and granted them bail to celebrate Eid with their relatives, friends and dear ones.
The judges were impressed with the quality of food, cleanliness of the kitchen. They also took round of the hospital, he added.
Lahore District and Sessions Judge Tariq Iftikhar, IG Farooq Nazeer and DIG Mubashar Ahmad Malik were also present on the occasion.
Trial courts also granted bails to 161 under-trial prisoners a day before Eid holidays.
Later, the two judges also visited the Kotlakhpat Central Jail and Sheikhupura District Jail the same day.
Kotlakhpat Jail Superintendent Asad Javed Warriach briefed them about the total numbers of prisoners, especially women inmates.
