President Mamnoon Hussain has underscored the need for greater efforts by Pakistan and Tunisia to strengthen economic interactions as the existing level of mutual trade was incommensurate with the equation being enjoyed by the two countries.

The president was talking to the Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia Mourad Bourehla who paid a farewell call on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Monday.

Pak-Tunisia bilateral relations and ways and means to further strengthen the existing relationship were discussed during the meeting.

The president appreciated diplomatic services of Ambassador Bourehla towards further strengthening Pak-Tunisia bilateral relations and bringing the two countries closer to each other.

While conveying his best wishes for the Tunisian leadership, the president said that the people of Pakistan wish the brotherly people of Tunisia, peace, progress and prosperity.

The president also expressed his best wishes for the outgoing ambassador and wished him well in his new assignments. He expressed the hope that Ambassador Bourehla would continue to work for the promotion of Pak-Tunisia relations.

The outgoing ambassador thanked the president and the government of Pakistan for the support he was extended during his tenure as ambassador.
