Lahore-bound Daewoo bus robbed

LAHORE – Five robbers, including a woman, looted a Lahore-bound Daewoo bus late on Sunday. National Highways and Motorway Police confirmed that the incident took place near Pattoki on the main highway at about 12:30am.
Shouzab Gardezi, a passenger traveling in the Multan-Lahore bus told Pakistan Today that he was returning to Lahore after visiting his ancestral home when four men and a woman who had boarded the bus from Multan held the other passengers hostage at gunpoint as soon as the bus crossed Pattoki.
Gardezi said one of the robbers started driving the bus while his accomplices started looting the passengers. The robbers fled the scene after bout one-and-a-half hour. Passengers said the company had put in place inadequate security measures that had led to the travelers being robbed so easily.
