Afghan intelligence agency National Directorate of Security (NDS) has alleged that Pakistani military offensive in North Waziristan, Operation Zarb-e-Azb, did not have any effect on terrorist networks, including Haqqani Network.
Talking to reporters, NDS spokesman Haseeb Sediqi said that that the NWA operation has not produced any satisfactory outcome so far as it is not targeting terrorist networks.
Sediqi reportedly added that one of the most important terrorist networks – Haqqani Network – remained safe from the offensive as the network leaders were taken to safe locations along with several leaders from other terrorist networks.
He said that information received by NDS reveals that Haqqani Network leaders were shifted to Kurram Agency, Quetta, Karachi and even Islamabad.
According to Sediqi, the Haqqani Networks leaders, members and their equipments, including weapons, were taken to Kurram Agency two weeks before the offensive was launched.
Sediqi said that Lashkar-e-Taiba and other terrorist networks also remained unaffected by the operation.
Sediqi alleged that the deadly car bombing in Orgun District of Afghnaistan’s Paktika province was one of the attacks carried out by Haqqani Network.
