Polyclinic, the main government-run hospital in Islamabad, has run out of its oxygen reserves after the supplier stopped further delivery over non-payment of dues of the previous three years.
According to media reports, the hospital’s oxygen reserves have hit zero-level in its operation theatre, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Cardiac CU, whereas the hospital’s Neonatal ICU (NICU) has oxygen enough to last for one hour only.
According to reports, the hospital administration is desperately trying to persuade the supplier to provide enough oxygen to last for at least four hours for the NICU.
On the other hand, the supplier has claimed that a commission is being demanded from him for clearance of his receivables.
