Islamabad High Court (IHC) has indefinitely adjourned hearing of contempt of court plea against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

A single bench of IHC comprising Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi took up contempt of court petition filed by the petitioner Moulvi Iqbal for preliminary hearing Monday.

The petitioner told the court that the plea had been filed against Khan in Supreme Court (SC) while other such petitions were not pending hearing against him therein.

“I have taken the ground in my petition that Imran Khan has held responsible judiciary and security agencies for rigging in general election. He directly charged former chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry that he was personally involved in polls rigging.”

The court issued directives to the petitioner after preliminary hearing that he should first of all present before it the record in writing that some other petitioners are not pending hearing against Imran Khan. The court will conduct further hearing of his case when he files record in the court in writing.
