The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Saturday issued a notice to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) Chairman Sharjeel Inam Memon in a case regarding approval of an allegedly bogus tender.

The application against Memon, filed by former KWSB chief engineer, Abdul Raheem Khatri, alleged that the provincial minister had approved the bogus tender of a “greater sewerage plan”.

Khatri said he was sacked for opposing the tender’s approval, adding that only the provincial chief minister was authorised to order his removal from service. The ex-KWSB chief engineer also alleged that the tender was given to a company named Mohammad Ayub and Brothers by copying his signatures, adding he had not signed the tender. Subsequently, the SHC issued notices to Memon among others to appear in court on July 24.
