ANF arrests five drug peddlers, including two women

The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered six kilogrammes of heroin, two kiolgrammes of opium and 500 grammes of charas and arrested five people, including two female drug smugglers.

According to a press release issued on Friday, ANF conducted raids in various cities including Islamabad, Attock and Lahore.

ANF Rawalpindi arrested two ‘lady’ drug smugglers, Shumaila and Humaira, at IqbalShaheedTollPlaza, GT Road, Attock while they were travelling in a bus and recovered 2.5 kilogrammes of heroin from their possession.

Meanwhile, ANFRawalpindiAirport team apprehended a passenger Arshad Ali, hailing from Nankana Sahib at BenazirBhuttoInternationalAirport who confessed to have ingested heroin filled capsules. He was boarding Dubai-bound flight PK-230.

In a separate incident, ANF Lahore seized a shipment at Sky Net Cargo Office, Lahore and recovered 3.6 kilogrammes of heroin concealed in five boxes containing children’s clothes, handbags, dinner sets and bed spreads. The consignment was destined for UK.

After initial investigation, it was revealed that the consignment was booked by Muhammad Jamil, hailing from Mirpur and was to be received by Shamim Akhtar in Aylesbury, UK.

In a separate incident, ANF Lahore arrested Sherzada hailing from Bajaur Agency and Muhammad Ehsan, a resident of Lahore, during an operation conducted near Niazi Bus Stand, Bund Road, Lahore and recovered 2 kilogrammes of opium and 500 grammes of charas from their possession.

Cases have been registered in ANF police stations and investigations are underway.
