Injured bank robber arrested from PIMS

Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Thursday arrested a wounded robber of a gang which looted Rs 1.7 million from National Civic Centre Bhara Kau, a police spokesman said.

According to details, unidentified people looted cash and prize bonds worth Rs 1,766,000 from National Civic Centre Bhara Kau on May 21 and one of the robbers was injured in firing.

Bhara Kau Police registered the case into the matter under Section 395/34 PPC following the written complaint of National Civic Centre In-Charge Muhammad Iftikhar.

Following this incident, Islamabad SSP Muhammad Ali Nekokara assigned the task to SP (Investigation) Jameel Ahmed Hashmi to trace the culprits involved in this incident and ensure recovery of looted money.

The SP (Investigation) constituted special team under supervision of CIA DSP Hassan Raza Shah which included sub-Inspector Mansoor Ahmed, ASI Ameer Sajjad and Constable Nur Muhammad.

This team succeeded to arrest an accused Irshad and continued efforts to nab other gangsters. On a tip off regarding the possible visit of gang leader Ahmed Sher, son of Sher Muhammad, to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for his treatment as he got bullet injury during this robbery attempt, police enhanced vigilance there and arrested him from parking area of the hospital.

SP (Investigation) Jameel Hashmi said that other culprits involved in this robbery have been also traced and teams have been sent to ensure their arrest after raid on their hideouts.

 

CAPITAL POLICE ARREST 14 OUTLAWS:

In the meanwhile, Islamabad Police arrested 14 outlaws from various areas of the city and seized weapons as well as stolen property from their possession, a police spokesman said.

According to details, Sabzi Mandi Police arrested four outlaws namely Javed, Abdullah, Adeel and Temur during special checking and recovered four pistols along with ammunition from their possession.

Shahzad Town Police arrested two accused Afsar Ali and Shafia besides recovering one 30-bore pistols and one 12-bore guns along with ammunition from their possession.

Bhara Kahu Police apprehended Zahid and Roshan while Sihala Police nabbed Ejaz for having one 30-bore pistol.

Tarnol Police arrested Khayal and recovered one 30 -bore pistol from him. Golra Police arrested drug pusher Waheed Khan and recovered 220 grams of heroin from him.

Bani Gala Police arrested accused Arshad involved in theft case. Separate cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them.

Meanwhile, Islamabad Police nabbed two proclaimed offenders during crackdown against absconders and have also accelerated the efforts to arrest those who are being at large despite their involvement in crime of heinous nature.

Meanwhile, five vehicles and 58 bikes were also impounded during checking which were being driven without authentic documents, while 10 professional alms seekers were nabbed.

SSP Islamabad Muhammad Ali Nekokara has appreciated this overall performance and further directed for effective policing and vigilance in the city.
