QUETTA –
A PIA airliner was targeted with laser light when it was landing at Quetta airport on Wednesday.
According to a private TV channel, the pilot of PIA flight PK-254 reported the control room about a burst of laser light at the airliner, when the flight from Mashhad was landing at Quetta airport. The airliner remained safe in the incident.
The law enforcement agencies launched a search operation at airport and its adjoining areas after the pilot’s report.
The flight was allowed to move ahead to Lahore after the area was declared ‘clear’ by the law enforcement agencies.
In a recent incident a PIA flight from Saudi Arabia was targeted with laser light and gunfire when it was landing at Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport.
A woman passenger was killed in the incident while two crew members were seriously injured in the attack.
