Aitekaaf arrangements have been made for as many as 2,200 Muslims at the Data Darbar Mosque during the last ten days of Ramzan this year.
This was disclosed in a meeting of Religious Purpose Committee of Data Darbar, chaired by Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Sunday. The meeting discussed in detail the measures to be put in place to facilitate the fasting Muslims observing Aitekaaf at the Data Darbar.
The federal minister was informed that as per routine, committees had been constituted to manage the affairs of the Aitekaaf, and up till now, Data Darbar administration received 2,069 Aitekaaf applications from the aspiring faithful and the number is increasing day by day. The Mutakafeen would be served best meals at the Data Darbar during Sehar and Iftar times, while there would be no load shedding at the darbar during Aitekaaf days.
The meeting was told that a medical camp for the Mutakafeen would be set up in collaboration with the Data Darbar Hospital and the Mayo Hospital and the Rescue-1122 Service would also remain alert.
The prayer mats and tents were being replaced with new ones, and extra measures were being taken to maintain overall cleanliness of the Data Darbar Mosque and toilets and drainage lines would be flushed out after every three days by the WASA workers. While, Lahore Waste Management Company would also play its active role in maintaining a clean environment there.
This year, Khatam-e-Quran and Mahafil Shabeena would be held for four days instead of three in the past, it was told.
Dar appreciated the efforts and measures being put in by the Data Darbar administration and relevant committees for facilitation of the Mutakafeen.
