At least six persons including a cop and a gang war accused were killed and several others injured in a fresh spate of violence in different localities of the city on Wednesday.
A key accused of gang war was killed in an alleged police encounter in Lyari. The culprit was killed in exchange of fire, identified as Rasool Buksh, wanted by police in several cases of murder, attempted murder, extortion and other crimes.
ASI Muhammad Ali Jan was killed in shoot out of unknown miscreants in Shah Latif Town at National Highway.
A man was killed in firing of unknown miscreants in Gulshan-e-Jamali area of the metropolis. In yet another incident of firing in Creek Chowk of Lyari, one person was killed. The police recovered two days old bullet-riddled body from the seashore.
Meanwhile, firing incidents continued in different areas of the city during which more than a dozen persons sustained injuries. They were shifted to hospitals in their concerned areas.
