Investigation ordered against financial bungling in govt school

SIALKOT – Gujranwala Division Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) Director has ordered a strict departmental probe against the alleged financial bungling and irregularities in Government Girls Higher Secondary School Sialkot Cantt.
According to a charge sheet forwarded to the Gujranwala ACE directorate by the school teachers, the principal forcibly collected Rs 850 as fine from the school’s 9th class each student for the registration fee of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE). It added that the principal collected Rs 45,000 from the innocent students illegally as there was no late fee by the government in this regard.
It stated she also allegedly collected Rs 50,000 by selling out progress reports at the rate of Rs 40 per report after purchasing them on Rs 25 per report from the printing press. The teachers also pointed out that the accused principal also purchased old machinery parts for the office’s photo state machine but charged thousands of rupees by showing them as new in the official record. The Gujranwala ACE director ordered a stern departmental inquiry against the alleged financial bungling and irregularities and sought a detailed inquiry report within a week.

Sialkot District Police Officer (DPO) Bilal Sadiq Kamiyana said this while talking to journalists while Sialkot Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) Zahid Gondal, Sialkot Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Raja Sadaqat Ali and Sialkot District Peace Committee senior member Zafar Malik were also present on the occasion.
PROCLAIMED OFFENDER ARRESTED: Police have arrested a proclaimed offender Tanseer alias Baggu Shah from Lahore. Reportedly, the police, on a tip off, raided there in Lahore and arrested the accused Tanseer, having head money of Rs 0.2 million announced by the Punjab government. He was wanted by Daska, Motra and Sambrial police in more than 18 different cases of dacoity, robbery, theft and kidnapping. The police have sent the accused behind the bars and further investigations are underway. The DPO has announced appreciation certificates and cash prizes for the raiding police parties, in this regard.
