LAHORE-
An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday charged five suspects for the murder of Farzana Iqbal, who was beaten to death with bricks outside the premises of Lahore High Court, a private news channel reported.
The court, headed by Justice Haroon Latif, indicted Farzana’s father, two brothers, her ex-husband and another relative. They were nominated for Farzana’s murder in a preliminary report submitted to the court by police.
The court summoned witnesses on July 7 and adjourned the hearing till then.
Farzana was murdered by more than two dozen attackers, including her father and brothers, outside the premises of LHC for marrying against her family’s will.
The ‘honour-killing’ received worldwide condemnation.
