KESC arrests two wire thieves

KARACHI – The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) security team on Friday morning arrested two persons from the Malir area involved in stealing copper wire and recovered about five kg of stolen wire.
The persons were caught red-handed by the KESC security personnel with the help of local residents while they were cutting off wire from the KESC power network in Bagh-e-Malir. They were handed over to the Al-Falah police and a case was registered against them.
On Thursday night, the KESC security teams had foiled three attempts from some unidentified men to steal precious copper wire from the extra high tension transmission lines of the power utility near Baba Jani Post on Malir to Gadap transmission line, near Mushad Graveyard on Baldia to Mauripur line and near tower No 18 on KANUPP to Baldia line.
