Transfer of 750 male and female teachers of district Rawalpindi to other schools under re-allocation policy has triggered unrest among the teachers.
In pursuance of directives of government of Punjab Directorate of Education Rawalpindi (DER) has transferred 98 teachers from Tehsil Kotli Sattian, 100 from Murree, 92 from Kahuta, 195 from Gujjar Khan, 59 from Taxila, 45 from Kallar Syedan and 290 from Rawalpindi city to other schools located in remote areas under re-allocation policy.
This step has put ladies teachers in perpetual mental agony as they have been transferred to such areas which are located at long distance from their home stations and they cannot even return to their homes if they pursue the method of daily go back.
The teachers’ community has voiced strong protest over this “unjust wholesale transfer” of their fellow beings from their respective tehsils to other tehsils and have demanded of government to withdraw these orders forthwith.
