The National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited (NTDC) said on Saturday that power shortage in the country has reached 3,800 megawatts.

Power load shedding is not likely to decrease, despite the federal government’s claims for major development in the power sector.

According to the NTDC, the country’s power generation is 13,900 megawatts whereas the total demand is 17,700 megawatts.

Urban areas of the country are facing 12 hours of power cuts daily while the rural areas are bearing 16 hours of load shedding daily.
