Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on his visit to the internally displaced persons (IDPs)camp in Bannu announced that each family of IDPs will receive Rs40,000 in the Islamic month of Ramazan, a private news channel reported.
The PM was welcomed by Army Chief General Raheel Sharif on his arrival.The premier was accompanied by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak and federal ministers.
He was briefed about the relief efforts for the IDP and met with the troops taking part in the military operation Zarb-e-Azb.
He said that the military and government is working hand-in-hand to resolve the problems faced by the IDPs.
The PM acknowledged the difficulties faced by the civilians displaced due to the military operation, adding the authorities would utilise all resources to rehabilitate the refugees.
He announced that the homes destroyed during the operation would be constructed along with building of new schools,hospitals and roads.
The PM had invited Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan to join him at the visit but the PTI chief declined the invitation, adding that he had already made the visit to the IDP camp and his party has a scheduled rally in Bahawalpur today (Friday).
