A meeting of the Lahore High Court (LHC) Administration Committee headed by Chief Justice Khawaja Imtiaz Ahmad was held to discuss draft report of a special committee on new LHC benches.
Special Committee Chairman Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah gave his presentation and submitted a draft report which was discussed in detail by the members of the committee.
The committee was of the unanimous view that certain material aspects of the matter needed further probe, inquiry and deliberations.
The administration committee also asked the special committee on new benches to seek the views and recommendations of other stake holders, including the Pakistan Bar Council, Punjab Bar Council, Law Commission of Pakistan, Federal Ministry of Law and Ministry of Finance and others. Now the special committee will submit its final draft report after taking input of other stake holders at the earliest.
The special committee was constituted under the Chairmanship of Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah while Justice Aminud Din Khan and Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan were its members. The committee was tasked to deliberate on the evaluation whether the proposed new LHC benches could be established at Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Sahiwal and DG Khan divisions.
