After a yearlong evaluation, the Institute of Sustainable Infrastructure, Washington DC, USA has given an “International Award” to DHA City Karachi (DCK) (1st Sustainable City of Pakistan) on June 19 during an impressive ceremony at Hotel Marriot at Metro Centre in Washington DC, USA. The award to DHA City Karachi (DCK) was received by the Project Director, Brig (r) Muhammad Rafique. The award has also been conferred upon the DCK Lead Consultants Osmani & Company (Pvt.) Ltd, and their International Associates Prof. Spiro Pollalis, Doxiadis and RMJM. The Institute is an internationally recognized organization that has developed and maintains a sustainability rating system for civil infrastructure in the world, and was founded by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), the American Public Works Association (APWA) and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
