Intelligence reports have expressed a strong possibility of terrorist sabotage in major cities of Punjab by two prominent banned outfits in retaliation to ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azab in North Waziristan.
Reports indicate that 20 terrorists of banned outfits like Asmat Ullah Muavia and Tariq Ganda groups could possibly target sensitive installations, while a group of two to seven terrorists was known to be planning major terrorist acts in major districts of Punjab.
The interior ministry has been known to have directed the Punjab Home Department to tighten its already stringent security in the province.
Among the alerted districts also include Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, and Gujranwala.
