Seven people lose lives in violence

As many as seven people, including a cop, were killed and two others injured in separate incidents of violence in the city on Monday.

According to the Pirabad Station House Officer (SHO), a 40-year-old PQR constable, Saeed Gul, son of Saudagir Khan, was killed by unknown culprits at Qasba Morr in Orangi Town. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy. The SHO said he was appointed at Pirabad police station.

Four bullet-riddled bodies of unidentified men, aged between 25 and 30, were recovered from Raees Goth in Baldia Town. The bodies were shifted to Sohrab Goth mortuary. The hands and feet of the victims were tied with rope and their bodies bore torture marks and gunshot wounds, said the police.

A teenage girl, Nazia, 18, daughter of Habib, was shot dead by unidentified armed men in Lines Area, Saddar. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

Separately, a 35-year-old man was killed by unknown armed men near Babar Weight Balance Scale in Surjani Town. The body was shifted to ASH for a post-mortem examination. The identity of the victim could not be ascertained yet.

Nasira Sohail, wife of Sohail Ansari, was shot at and injured when unknown armed men opened fire on her car AHQ-065 on MA Jinnah Road. She was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

A man, Rahat Ali, 40, son of Abdul Ghafoor, received stray bullet injuries near police station in Ibrahim Hyderi, Korangi. The injured was rushed to JPMC for treatment.
