A five-member Supreme Court bench headed by Justice Nasirul Mulk will hear the federal government’s appeal today (Monday) against Sindh High Court’s June 12 verdict lifting former president Pervez Musharraf’s travel ban.

The bench also comprises Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Saqib Nisar, Justice Asif Saeed and Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan.

Earlier, a three-judge bench headed by Justice Saqib Nasir, while hearing the previous plea on June 16, had referred the matter to the chief justice and suggested the formation of a larger bench.

Expressing its fears in its June 16 plea, the government had said that Musharraf was likely to leave the country after SHC’s judgment.

“The trial under Article 6 of the Constitution is taking place for the first time in Pakistan’s history and should not be allowed to be frustrated or undermined. In view of the importance of the case, it is respectfully requested that this matter may be fixed at the earliest date,” it had submitted.

  1. Today's decision and the Live (but futile) dramas of #TUQ prove that we have a professional Army now and
has absolutely no interest in meddling into politics.

The constipated trolls of Musharraf have to learn the lesson from Turkey, as recently reported http://www.dawn.com/news/1113658/ 3 days ago.
By punishing Musharraf a good precedent will be set in Pakistan to prove the supremacy of rule of Law.
[There is not much difference between Taliban & Mush supporters; Both don't accept the Law and want decisions according to their Dictates]

Rest in Peace the doctrine of necessity!

  3. Interantionally acknowledged as, "The Most Corrupt Courts of the World", where one starts paying bribe as soon as he enters any court in Pakistan. They will decide the case of Most Honest Leader, what a fine joke?
