*Sikh Yatrees arrive in city to celebrate death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh

As many as 344 Sikh Yatrees arrived on Saturday by a special train from India to observe the 175th death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh at Gurdwara Dera Sahib.

Shrine Additional Secretary Khalid Ali, Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC) President Sardar Sham Singh and other officials accorded warm welcome to Sikh Yatrees at the Wagha Railway Station.

The government has made security arrangements besides immigration, customs, bank and medical facilities at the Wagha Railway Station to facilitate the pilgrims.

Speaking on the occasion, group leader of the Yatrees, Sardar Gurmeet Singh said they had come to Pakistan with the message of love and peace.

Appreciating the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) arrangements for the Yatrees, he said the Government of Pakistan had provided best facilities to the Yatrees.

He urged for making easy visa process as citizens of both countries wanted to meet each other.

Soon after their arrival, the Sikh Yatrees left for Gurdwara Janamastan Nanakana Sahib where they will stay for two days and perform rituals. After that, they will leave for Sucha Sauda, Farooqabad, on June 22.

On June 23, the Yatrees will leave for Gurdwara Punja Sahib Hassanabad and stay for three days to perform rituals.

They will go back to Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore on June 26. On June 28, the Yatrees will visit Aimanabad and Kirtarpur in Narowal and return to Gurdwara Dera Sahib Lahore on the same day.

The Sikh Yatrees will perform their special rituals (Bhog Akhand Paath Sahib) in Dera Sahib on June 29. The Sikh yatrees will return home on June 30.
