A meeting of Metro Bus Implementation Committee, to review the pace of work and the impediments in way of Metro Bus Project, was held here at Jinnah Convention Centre on Friday. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Hanif Abbasi, the Chairman Metro Bus Implementation Project.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Shakeel Awan ex-MNA, Mr. Anjum Akeel Khan Ex-MNA, Ziaullah Shah ex-MPA, Member Administration, CDA, Member Engineering, CDA, Member Environment, CDA, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, District Coordinator Officer, Rawalpindi, and representatives of NESPAK, RDA, SNGPL, IESCO and contractors.
While at the outset, Mr. Hanif Abbasi said that all the impediments, which were hindering the work on the Metro Bus Project have almost been removed. There are minor issues of shifting of services lines from different patches, which are no more hindrance to the work and contractors shall work with full throttle to complete the project on the stipulated time frame.
The meeting was informed that RDA has appointed four engineers who will act as focal persons for different packages to coordinate with different departments and contractors.
While addressing the contractors, Mr. Hanif Abbasi stressed that there will be no compromise on the quality of work and material used in the project. He also asked the contractors to fully cooperate with the instruction / directions of District Administration and Police keeping in view the sensitivity of prevailing law and order situation.
He also noted that the pace of work at Package-2 of Islamabad portion i.e. the interchange at Peshawar Morr is slow and asked the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to arrange a separate meeting with the contractor of the said package.
