Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar said on Friday that the Finance Ministry had fully or partially accepted 57 of the 133 non-binding recommendations made by the Senate, while decisions on 49 others would be taken after a “due process” of required consultation with other departments concerned and the provincial governments.
“The debate in the parliament over the proposed budget provided useful inputs for the Finance Ministry and the FBR and in the light of guidance provided by the parliament,” he said while chairing a meeting at the Ministry of Finance which reviewed the amendments suggested by the parliamentarians in the Finance Bill 2014-15.
FBR Chairman Tariq Bajwa briefed the finance minister on the viability of the proposed amendments and their impact on the overall revenue collection.
