While expressing satisfaction over the preparation and progress of the anti-terrorist military operation so far, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Monday emphasised that all terrorists along with their sanctuaries must be eliminated without any discrimination.

During his visit to Corps Headquarters Peshawar where he was given a detailed briefing on the progress of operation Zarb-e-Azb, the COAS said that the operation was not targeted against valiant tribes of North Waziristan but against those terrorists who were holed up in the agency and had picked up arms against the State.

Gen Sharif directed all concerned officers to undertake special measures for diligent management of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in conjunction with the relevant civilian agencies. He also reiterated that with the support of the nation, particularly tribesmen, Zarb-e-Azb will be concluded successfully and comprehensively.

Also during the day, COAS addressed the participants of the National Security and War Course at National Defence University (NDU). His address focused on internal and external situation of the country with particular reference to ongoing operation in NWA.
