The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday arrested two bureaucrats for their alleged involvement in a land scam worth Rs 400 million.

The NAB officials claimed to have arrested director planning Salahuddin and assistant director planning Muhammad Yaqoob.

The accused were charged with the plundering of Rs 400 million in
connection with purchasing land at Nathiagali for a housing scheme. The land was bought without the consent of authorities concerned. An investigation is underway to unearth the misappropriation of funds.

Earlier, NAB had arrested then secretary housing Zakiullah, former director finance of the Provincial Housing Authority (PHA), former
PHA DG Javed Ahmad, land acquisition collector Naveed Qadir and their alleged front man, Mohammad Asif in the same case.

Furthermore, NAB claimed that in 2012 the PHA acquired the land for a project ‘housing scheme for government servants and general public’ in Nathiagali, Abbottabad at an inflated price.
