Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that the premier wrote a letter to the National Assembly (NA) speaker for the formation of a parliamentary committee for electoral reforms due to his party’s mass campaign against rigging.

Talking to journalists in the capital on Wednesday, Qureshi said that the PTI had held successful public meetings in Islamabad, Faisalabad and Sialkot and the campaign would continue. He said the government has not contacted the PTI about the parliamentary committee and his party was also not in a hurry.

Speaking about his meeting with the NA opposition leader, Qureshi said that they had agreed that he will take PTI into confidence on the parliamentary committee after he receives a letter from the NA speaker. He said both parties would decide their future course of action after the formal letter arrives.

Qureshi added that as compared to the past, current Opposition was totally different as PTI was the third largest party and it enjoyed confidence of the people.
