Interior Ministry issued six security alerts to Sindh: Chaudhry Nisar

 The Interior Ministry had issued six security alerts to the Sindh Government since November last year,  Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Tuesday.

According to media reports, Khan, addressing the National Assembly session, said that out of the six warnings to the provincial government two were for the metropolis of Karachi.

Speaking about Sunday’s terrorist attack on Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, the interior minister said that the action by security forces began immediately in response to the ambush at 11 pm.

The security troops battled the terrorists aggressively, killing seven of them. The post-mortems and identification of terrorists in underway, he added.

The gate which was used by the terrorists to launch the attack on the airport had already been declared a security risk, Khan told the National Assembly.

The NA unanimously passed two resolutions  against the attacks on the Karachi airport and Shia pilgrims in Taftan on June 8 (Sunday).
