Successful Haj applicants directed to submit passports by Tuesday

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has asked 53,814 successful intending pilgrims of the Government Scheme to submit their machine readable passports by Tuesday through their respective banks for further process and action.

The passports must be valid up to March 31, 2015.

After receiving documents, the ministry would issue the Haj flight schedule and initiate the process of stamping of visas.

Officials of the ministry said the government has brought down Haj expenses to Rs 250,000 per person.

The excess amount received along with the applications will be refunded soon.

Haj flight operation would start from August 27 and are scheduled to culminate by September 28.

Successful Haj candidates should reach their nearest Haji camp three days prior to their flight, for training and vaccination.
