Six killed and 47 injured in road accidents across country

At least six people were killed and 47 others were injured on Sunday in separate road accidents in different parts of the country.

At least five people were killed when a vehicle plunged into a ravine near Lower Dir’s Bandi Pull in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday morning.

Police said that the incident occurred due to reckless driving, which killed five persons on board, who were on way from Maidan to Timargrah. The bodies have been shifted to Timargrah Hospital.

One person was killed and 14 others injured when a passenger bus overturned due to overspeeding in Toba Tek Singh.

In another incident, at least eight people were injured when the driver lost control of a vehicle which capsized near Athara Hazari Chowk in Jhang district.

Police personnel and rescue teams immediately reached the site of the incident and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.

In Balochistan, at least 25 people were injured when a passenger bus overturned on the Coastal Highway in Hub district. Edhi sources said that a passenger bus on way from Gwadar to Karachi met with an accident on Hub Coastal Highway leaving 25 passengers including women and children injured. Some were shifted to a local hospital while others to Civil Hospital.
