Excise and Taxation Department Rawalpindi has launched a grand operation against token tax and custom duty defaulters here.
Two hundred vehicles being defaulters on payment of custom duty and token tax and without having registration documents have been impounded by Excise and Taxation Department during the operation.
Special operation launched on the directives of Director General Excise and Taxation Punjab Naseem Sadiq while Director Headquarter Muhammad Irfan Khalid and Director Excise and Taxation Rawalpindi Shakeel ur Rehman are supervising the operation.
According to Shakeel ur Rehman, the staff of motor registration branches, excise and taxation department took part in the operation and 500 vehicles were checked on various city roads including SatelliteTown, Bunni and Civil Lines. The teams tasked with the checking duty will continue their work and strict action in accordance with the law would be taken against the rules violators.
The non registered vehicles are also being impounded.
