Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain will emerge as victorious out of this critical situation spawned as a result of his arrest by the British police.
While addressing the participants of the Numaish sit-in moments after the midnight, the governor said he thanked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his persistent cooperation, adding that the federal government was in constant liaison with the high commission in Britain for the purpose.
The governor also thanked Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, former president and co-chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari and all other political leaders who extended sympathies towards the Muttahida, its workers and Altaf Hussain.
He said former president Zardari had been in touch for the last three days. Reiterating his belief that Altaf Hussain will surmount the moments of trials and tribulations, the Sindh governor asserted that Altaf Hussain remained steadfast during every crisis with the added strength given by prayers of mothers and sisters of the nation.
On the occasion, he lauded the positive approach of the sit-in participants who are sitting in the open to express solidarity with their leader, saying, “The world is watching you sitting here in an absolutely peaceful manner to express your love and devotion towards your leader.”
