Rs 2.3b allocated for Law Division

The federal government has allocated Rs 2.3 billion for different ongoing and new development schemes of Law, Justice and Human Rights Division in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for fiscal year 2014-15.

According to the official document, Rs 1061.959 million has been allocated for the ongoing schemes and Rs 1290.250 million for new development schemes.

Among the on-going schemes, an amount of Rs 1,000 million has been allocated for the Federal Programme Under Access to Justice and Rs 61.959 million for furnishing of Supreme Court building.

Among the new schemes, an amount of Rs 722.325 million has been earmarked for construction of Islamabad High Court and Rs 272 million for the residences of the judges, registrar, officers and officials, Rs 108.948 million for the construction of sessions court divisions and Rs 65.340 million for acquisition of land for extension of the Islamabad High Court.

Rs 53.364 million has also been allocated for construction of accommodation for the Supreme Court Staff Registry Branch Building Lahore, Rs 41.855 million for provision of museum and upgrading of courtyard at Supreme Court, Rs 10 million for construction of working women hostels in sectors G-6/2 and G-7/3, and Rs 10 million for establishment of helpline for legal advice on human rights and Rs 5.558 million for supplying and installation of wooden furniture and racks for Old Library at Registry Branch of Supreme Court.
