Sindh Education Minister Nisar Khuhro has said that the PML-N has refused to sit with the PTI and he thought that the opposition was not united in Sindh.
Talking to media in his office in the Sindh Assembly, Khuhro said that no time period has been fixed for appointment of the leader of opposition in the provincial assembly. The House was working without the leader of opposition earlier and it will continue to do so. He said the opposition members could give their proposals for the provincial budget individually.
To a question, Khuhro said Dr Tahirul Qadri denounces democracy in the country while sitting abroad. He said PTI Chairman Imran Khan had backed the referendum of Pervez Musharraf, and for him the referendum of Musharraf was transparent and democratic elections were non-transparent.
The minister said the provincial government would provide funds to the universities but will also make them accountable. The universities would be given autonomy but not unbridled freedom, he added.
He said the province will provide one-time meal or bicycles to the schoolchildren instead of laptops.
