- Standing Committee on Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony dissatisfied over ETPB’s performance
National Assembly Standing Committee on Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Friday unanimously passed a resolution condemning the desecration of three mandirs in Kot Ghulam Muhammad, Mir Pur Khas, Sindh.
The committee termed the incident an attempt to ruin the feelings of the Hindus and recommended that ministry may take up the issue at an appropriate forum for proper investigation so that culprits could be penalised accordingly.
The committee, which met under the chairmanship of MNA Malik Abdul Ghaffar Dogar, expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) as the board’s resources were being utilised for other proposes instead of minorities’ welfare.
The committee also expressed concern over the non-inclusion of any elected member from the minority community in the board and proposed that MNA Lal Chand Malhi may be included.
The committee also directed the ministry to provide district-wise detail of the property owned by ETPB along with its revenue generated from the said properties to the committee before the next meeting.
