Retirees’ reappointment and violation of merit

This is apropos to the news items: “Retirees’ reappointment goes against SC orders” (April 13). No doubt the reappointment of retired officials on contracts is a serious issue and a clear-cut violation of apex court’s orders and also of merit of deserving candidates who are waiting for their promotion.

The recent example is of an appointment of the retired employee on contract as a chairman of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Human Resource Research and Development Board (BBSHRRDB) approved by the chief minister of Sindh in a clear-cut violation of apex court’s decisions and also merit. The said example is a unique one as the said chairman was selected without any interview, test or allowing anyone to compete for the post.

The Supreme Court and Sindh High Court should take notice of such cases because it was injustices to those who deserve such posts on merit.

  1. The appointment of retired person is though in violation of the right of sitting serving officers waiting of posting but such vilation is being carried out daily. It is shocking to state that even the Honourale SHC has allowed appontmentsof retired Sessions Judges with the approval of Honourable Chief Justice in the ATC Courts, Desrving and honest Civil Judge waiting for posting since last more then 14 years are still wating for their return and in this way not only thier career is being affected but their integritty is also bween seriously damaging. Honourable CJ Sindh and CJ Superme Court are requested to take notice of the situation and do justice with the peoples woking at the bottom for dispensation of quick justice with the people but himself are watching for doing justice with them.
