Sporadic incidents of violence continued in Karachi claiming nine more lives on Monday.

Police said three bodies were recovered from Surjani Town near Northern Bypass this morning. The men were shot dead after being kidnapped, officials said, as the victims could not be identified.

Three people were killed in separate firing incidents in Landhi, Ghagar Phatak and near Sabzi Mandi area at Super Highway. Moreover, two persons were injured in gun attacks in SITE area and Nazimabad.

Meanwhile, police claimed to have killed three gangsters of Lyari in an encounter which took place in Ittehad Town union council of Baldia Town. According to SSP West Irfan Baloch, six suspects fired shots on a police mobile in the area, adding that three of them were killed when police retaliated.

He claimed that hand grenades, arms and snatched motorbikes were also recovered from the criminals in the city plagued for years by sectarian, ethnic and political violence.
