Police ordered to mobilise security apparatus as twin bombing hits capital
After two blasts early Saturday morning, the Islamabad Police have tightened the security in the capital and also ensured extra deployment in various areas to avert any untoward incident.
Islamabad Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Muhammad Ali Nekukara has directed for effective security measures in the city besides enhancing vigilance and patrolling steps.
He ordered combing and search operation in the slum areas while extra vigilance at entry and exit points of the city. He has directed for extra deployment of police personnel and security measures at important locations of the city including buildings, markets, important chowks and signals.
The SSP directed to ensure high vigilance and strict patrolling measures in various sectors and residential areas of the city.
The police official said that police commandoes should be deputed around sensitive locations and important buildings. Special police teams should be constituted by each police station for effective patrolling in its respective jurisdiction, he added.
Rescue15 have been also directed for strict patrolling and keep in touch with the heads of police stations for ensuring security.
The SSP directed to specify halting points for strict checking of those entering or leaving the city. He asked all SPs, ASPs, SDPOs to launch crackdown against anti-social elements, miscreants and suspected elements. He also directed them to ensure strict checking at all entry and exit points and keep strict watch on suspicious persons. Special search of the forest and green belts of the city has been ordered.
He has made special directions to all senior police officials to conduct checking themselves at all police pickets in their areas and make the security system more effective.
Special police deployment should be ensured at sensitive and important buildings while police officials in civil uniforms to be assigned the task for keeping vigilance against suspicious elements, he added. He directed beat officers to remain alert while Falcon and Eagle Squads have been also assigned the task for effective policing and patrolling in the city.
The SSP has appealed all the citizens to remain extra vigilant and inform police in case of observing any suspect.
